Yen Chee Design believes in the core values of giving back to our community. In doing that, we are committed to serving local charities. Each year, we are releasing a custom designed jewelry piece, and all net proceeds from the sale of it will go to a chosen charity. The first item has been designed to commemorate a local non-profit organization that prides itself on helping families and children in need. This piece has been released and available for sale since October 2009 in conjunction with Fusion+Fashion, an IIDA (International Interior Design Association) Fashion Show that Yen is co-chairing. IIDA has also chosen to donate a portion of all ticket sales from the fashion show to the same charity.

I am pleased to introduce the first charity Yen Chee Design is partnering with – People Serving People, a remarkable group that is located here in Minneapolis, dedicated to “serving homeless children and their families and providing a new opportunity for a healthy, stable family life.”

People Serving People (PSP) is the largest and most comprehensive, family-focused shelter in Minnesota. PSP provides for the immediate needs of families in crisis and offers long-term stability support. The face of homelessness today is the face of a child. On an average night, PSP provides housing for more than 300 guests, two-thirds of which are under age 18. At-risk families with children experience the most dramatic effects in the midst of an economic crisis. Investing in families now curbs long-term costs to the community tomorrow. PSP is a 501(c)3 supported through corporate sponsorships, community partnerships, grants and gifts from individual donors.

What is Gratitude?
